crazy java photo gallery

the site i found today is an awesome example of what you can do with an extended knowledge of javascript ( i think?). it's only a photogallery, and it doesn't appear as though there is more to the website than the gallery, but it is still a really awesome solution to the age old gallery display dilema.

Another Zen moment from Jmarie...

unusual site designed to highlight the work of a performance artist. As you throw the blocks around, if you put certain ones in the circle, it plays the artist's music videos. Some parts are very cool, but others are a little difficult to maneuver through. All in all a cool site.

britanick.com

i came across these guys on youtube and their videos are hilarious! i decided to check out their website and was surprised by its simple set up, but effective means of conveying info. it makes good use of the overflow technique we just learned about too, and has given me some good ideas for my own site

PBR ART

I love Pabst Blue Ribbon Beers, I also love this website! You have to be 21 to explore the site but you can create your own PBR art with a program that has stamps and logos, and you can look in the gallery of all the really cool, creative PBR art that past artists have created. There's everything from paintings, to poetry, to sculptures. Really fun website!

zen and the down load...

http://www.prettyloaded.com/

I also found this website on Communication Arts award winner webpage. It is a site dedicated to archiving all the "loading countdowns" it can find. Although very simple, it is obsessive and crazy zen-like.

very cool, site set up is not the best, but interesting.

crazy graphic novel web site

I found this site on the Communication Arts site for 2010 award winners for web design. The site is meant to sell toys and books related to the Graphic Novel "Scary Girl". There is a game on the site as well that is very cool and really addictive. I love the artwork and think the site is pretty easy to navigate. It's a shame the shop isn't up and running yet, but otherwise very cool.

prime gallery website

the prime gallery is a gallery site i stumbled across while researching for a different art class project. it offers a very simple approach to organizing and displaying a large amount of art. the gallery display is something i like a lot for its simplicity, and i plan on emulating its design. for my sites gallery pages.

Passion Pit Website

http://www.passionpitmusic.com/

Not only do I love the band, their website is pretty neat too. Its very organized, clean, simple, and easy to navigate. I like the background image too, and how it fades into different colors after a few seconds. I think it's a very creative cute website.

http://www.oneeyeland.com/image.php?imgid=14992&pgrid=

Really neat photography here. Easy to navigate, along with a soft cream color to accent the work. Gallery is simple but has thumbnails and next buttons make it easy for the work you want to see available.
http://ericstaller.com/studio%20work/light%20drawings/?page=11

This website is really neat. It seems to take a while to load page to page due to the fancy background, but as a whole it looks and functions pretty neat. I do wish they stylized the menu bar a bit more. Definately sweet work worth checking out though.

fun t-shirt designs

i found this site and i like alot of the designs. i especially like the where's waldo/castaway image.

Teacher Website

I really like the purpose and design of this website. Its a great way for teachers to connect with students better and provide 24/7 access to assignments and different ways to learn the subject. I think it's great that this teacher is using the web to reach out to her students.

Hope Website

http://www.livehopelove.com/#/home/

The website I used in my presentation.

http://vtartsinks.com/index.html

I met the artist who makes these sinks, at a home show. His work was just exquisit, and I got to chat with him about it for a while. He handed me his information and I decided to visit his website as a resource for this course where we are building our own artists websites.
His site seemed a little cluttery, and I really did not like the colors. But the work makes it worth while to surf around his page.

Clayton Crain's website

http://www.claytoncrain.com/©/front.html

This is the website for one of my favorite comic book artists; Clayton Crain. He does all his designs in Photoshop (which amazes me). The website was recently redesigned and is easier to navigate and now has a great new page with time lapse videos where you can watch one of his designs being created. He is also planning a tutorial page to teach his photoshop techniques.

Junktion Products

Junktion Products is a company which specializes in recycling ordinary "junk" into awesome sculptural and functional designs. i came across the website from a recent project and really liked how uniquely the website was laid out. The small thumbnail sized images turn into full sized picture after you click on them and also displays information about each piece. it is a unique solution to an overused layout. the problem with the website is because of perhaps the complexity of the layout, the site takes a while to use. in any case it was a neat and interesting foundation for an artists website.

Jay Peak

http://www.jaypeakresort.com/
I like this website because it has a good color scheme and the animation in the beginning is cool. I love the photo of the day option and the way that it is set up, it's like some of the artists websites that you see.

JDK

Jager Di Paulo Kemp

This is a website from a design company in Burlington Every time you log on the bird is a different color. There is a "high profile design" or very professional feel to the site which seems to hold true to the companies high profile customers and quality of designs.
http://www.watercolorpainting.com/links-artists.htm

This is a really neat website that has links to oodles of other artists' pages. Pretty straight forward. Lots of scrolling, but overall very helpful. They should really consider putting a menu of the alphabet on the top to see artist of that name letter....

The Hype Machine

This website filters through all different music blogs and posts new and interesting music. It makes it extremely easy to find, listen, and download music that you love and new remixes and covers of songs. Its very organized and user-friendly. if your hanging out with nothing to do and you feel like checking out a random art site id probably recommend looking at www.12ozprophet.com its just a forum and blog site for art criminals to exchange work and stories.

big budget/ amazing look

http://www.absolut.com/us

I know that absolut is a huge company with an enormous marketing budget, but I think this website is so sophisticated and smooth that it deserved some recognition. Each page is designed with it's own concept and identity. I love the graphic displays and the way the site is navigated.
